Here is the before of our sad little bedroom:
Isn't it just screaming for some attention? The bare walls are terrible! I have been waiting to buy throw pillows to go on the bed until we decide the color scheme. I need to go and purchase my duvet clips so that the duvet doesn't look so sad and not to mention the bamboo blinds are still missing in action from the window!
These are my questions for you:
1. What is my color scheme going to be? I better decide quickly!
2. How am I ever going to decide on a fabric when there are SO many options?
3. How high is 'too' high for the headboard?
4. What color am I going to paint the walls? They are quite literally the color of a band aid and it is no bueno!
I would love any and all suggestions/comments! HELP ME OUT!

Hi Jessica, I love the idea of adding texture with the bamboo shades. Are you planning to keep the blue lampshade? Blues are always perfect for bedrooms. If it were my room and I had the blank slate, I might consider going with a pale turquoise on the walls. For an accent color, greens or corals work beautifully with turquoise. You might also consider painting stripes on the wall behind your bed. Turquoise and white would look great. I just did this in my son's room and it was quick and easy. I love the tan and blue room. Those colors are really in right now. I think you could go like 5 feet with the headboard because it looks so dramatic that way. Have fun decorating and show us the progress!
I want a pretty little bedroom. I am just happy I finally have matching couches! SITS sent me over!
